And the new Aloud album will be called...
Just kidding. I'm so cruel. It's been a long time. A long time spent preparing, recording, and finally mixing. The record will be done by the end of next week. This is high cause for celebration. We've been hoping to have this done for ages. I'm pretty damn proud of it myself. I can't wait for everyone to hear it. Hell I can't wait to be able to hear it as it's supposed to be. Thanks to everyone who's been patient and to all those who won't discover it till it comes out. We're pushing up the release date (does this surprise anyone? isn't it always the case?). We're pushing it up to get everyone more excited and pull it off just right. We also need time to shop it around to bunch of different labels to find the right home for it. Then we can get it into all of your stereos, cars, and hearts hopefully. In the meantime we hope you're enjoying the album songs in the set. If you aren't on the mailing you should sign up so you can hear clips from four songs off the album. Once you sign up we'll mail you the password to get into our MEMBERS area. That's about all for now. We've got some great shows coming. Come out coz that's where music breathes. Jen

HURRICANE KATRINA: Benefit, and other info
SEPT. 15, 9PM - $5 - 21 HURRICANE KATRINA BENEFIT RALPH'S DINER 148 Grove Street, Worcester, MA w/ Average White Boys, The Cyanide Valentine We're playing next Thursday (9/15) at Ralph's in Worcester. It's the first in a series of shows Ralph's has put together for the hurricane relief. All the door money collected will be donated to the United Way's Hurricane Katrina Response Fund (more info on donating below). According to the United Way, the money they collect will be used for both short-term and long-term needs, which will be determined by United Way agencies in the affected areas. We'll be playing with Average White Boys (formerly the Goonsquad... we've played with them before and they're a gas!), and The Cyanide Valentine (we've played with them before too. They're awesome, and Wendy plays viola on a track off our new record). One more band is still TBA. We're encouraging everyone to come out to the show, (as well as other shows at Ralph's), but even if you can't, please donate to the Hurricane Relief, whether it's the United Way, The Red Cross, anyone. Any worthwhile charity will do. Believe me, I know it sounds like a tired old song at this point, but the help that's needed there greatly exceeds our short attention spans (mine included). Do what you can, and encourage others to do the same. Every little bit helps. Cheers, Henry United Way Hurricane Katrina Response Fund Donate Online or call 1-800-272-4630 To Donate by mail, make checks out to "United Way", with "Hurricane Katrina Fund" in the memo. Hurricane Katrina (please read)
![]() A lot of people in the Gulf Coast are in a really, really bad shape right now with this whole Hurricane business. People won't be able to return to their homes for at least one or two months, if there's anything to return to. That's to say nothing of the people who have lost their lives, which could be anywhere from the hundreds to the thousands. Being from Florida, all this really hits home for me. I went through Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Me and my family were extremely fortunate that all we had to endure was minimal damage to the house, mangled palm trees, a broken car window, and 3-4 weeks without any electricity. Although I was one of the lucky ones, I knew kids who literally lost the roof over their heads, and nearly their lives. I knew others whose entire community was completely wiped out of existence. But this isn't a pity party, and this certainly isn't about me. Natural disasters happen, and there's nothing we can do about them. What we can do is help out with the relief effort. Donate to the Red Cross or the Salvation Army. Most of you, like myself, are hurting for money (who isn't these days, eh?), so all I ask is to do what you can. Donations are as low as $5.00 on the Red Cross website. If you can't give, please encourage others to do so. The Red Cross has guidelines regarding donating non-cash items, which you may want to read here. I've also been told that at most supermarkets you can ask the cashier about donating at the checkout counter. Thanks for your time.
