BOSTON: NEW show added

We've added a new Boston date that is right around the corner. We'll be returning to Bill's Bar on Thursday, Feb. 2 for Rock Candy. The bands go on around 10:30pm, doors at 9pm. And after the rock you can roll your ass on the dance floor coz you don't care that you have work the next day. And those of still not legal? You can come along as it's 18 . You may not have work the next day... come to think of it you probably don't have class on a Friday too. Lucky bastards! You've got no excuse.

We'll be traveling the next day to New London, CT to play CT College. If you go to school there please do drop on by!

Toodles,

Jen

Art

More work is being done on the artwork for the cd this weekend. We should have that stuff sorted soon and off the to the presses so you can all get your physical or digital hands on it. Right now I'm at work, but I'm buzzing over all the cool stuff coming up: the album, the video, the gigs, etc. One other little card we've got up our sleeves, but I'm not saying anything yet!

No gigs this weekend, but the rest will be needed. Off on our first CT gig next Friday (the 3rd) at CT College. I'm missing NYC right now as well. We were there as two ships that pass in the night a couple weeks ago and I miss it terribly. There'll be another one night stand on 2/22 at the ultra cool Death Disco. It'll be good to see DJ Mojo and our favorite nyc Bartender again.

Till then just know we've got great things planned and soon you'll get to hear much more. Hopefully very soon.

The Best Music Video Of All Time

Wanna be in a music video? Then you should be on mailing list for sure cause were are in the midst of making our music video debut. The video is for the song "Beaches" off our soon to be released LP. We will be looking for extras so join our mailing list (if you haven't already) to be put on notice. We have teamed up with famed cinematographer Tom Fitzgerald to shoot with us. We have tons of great ideas so this video will be phenomenal when we finish. We start (and hopefully finish ) in Feburary. We will definetly need extras so if you wanna be part of this just look out for the casting call. The best way to be notified promptly is to join the list, and yes this is the second time I told you to join the mailing list so go do it.

Many thanks for a fine, fine weekend

Thank you everyone for the fantastic weekend. It was definitely a hell of a first hometown show of the year, and it was great to see so many familiar and unfamiliar faces. The guys from Scamper were front and center cheering us on (or giving us the finger... I forget which), live reviewers extraordinaires Steve Gisselbrecht and Tom were there, Mike from Harris was there, Richie Hoss from The Drags, ... If I've left anyone out let me know, and I'll edit this faster than.. something fast.

Thanks to FNX and Dave Virr (aka Dave Duncan) for hosting the whole thing and having us on in the first place. The Bon Savants were fantastic as well. This is the second time we've played with them and it was pretty awesome. I have to say Thom has a pretty sweet Rickenbacker/Vox setup. Enviable, perhaps. Yes.

I was speaking to the dudes from Scamper at the show as well. Apparently, they're starting a regular podcast thing on 2/6 with local music, bits, and whatever else comes to mind. I know they were recording a few things at the show, so we'll see if anything blush-worthy ends up on it....

It was fun to go back to Ralph's the next day, too. I was pretty disappointed when Sunday rolled along and there was no show afterwards, and there won't be another till 2/16. We're working on something for 2/2 in Boston, but as of now we're still waiting for a confirmation, so that may not even happen.

Regardless, we're moving forward behind the scenes. We'll finally be able to release all the details on the album that you want next month, and we'll be shooting a video for Beaches as well. Rest assured we will not go the route of absolute cheese and film it on a beach. Or will we? You'll have to wait and see.

Actually, no, there will be no beach scenes that I know of.

Aside from those things, we're planning some very exciting things beyond the album, and beyond the video even. And now that we've got the recording behind us, we plan to beef up our touring schedule this year. Which makes me happy, because playing makes me happy.

You know what doesn't make me happy? Bills, work, and terms like "blog". So touring is a decidedly better route. Though now that I think of it, a tour would undoubtedly spawn more bills, more work, and more blogs. I can't win.

I'll wrap this up with some instructions to you:
- Keep requesting Beaches on WFNX, WAAF, and WBCN.
- Buy Funeral, The Arcade Fire's album
- While you're at it, buy the new Strokes album (First Impressions of Earth)
- Listen to music every day.
- and click on those links, eh?

Cheers,
Henry

Another fun weekend

Yes music is fun.. We've been realizing this more and more. I saw Wingspan last night. I know it's Wings, but the biopic was actually quite good. What I like about Paul McCartney is if it isn't fun anymore he just stops. It's a great philosphy. He can afford more than others to say so, but it's still true... anyway... some more Aloud news... we'll be playing FNX's New England Product Spotlight this Friday at Bill's Bar. Thanks to FNX for all their recent support and for being damn cool period. The next day sees us in Worcester to visit one of our favorite digs, Ralph's Diner. We'd love to see you this weekend, so by all means come on out.

More on the album next month. I think we should be able to tell you more about when it's coming out and the details surrounding that. Very exciting!

Also, we'd like to say THANK YOU to everyone requesting us on FNX, WAAF, and WBCN. And thanks to the stations for continuing to play us! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We'll be getting played tonight on WMFO's On the Town With Mikey Dee as well, so be sure to tune in. Show starts at 9pm and you can listen online here or on terrestrial radio on 91.5 FM.

You can also request Aloud-"Beaches" here:

WAAF 107.3FM/ Req. line: 617-931-1AAF (1223)

WBCN 104.3 FM/ Req. line: 617-539-8000

WFNX 101.7 FM / Req. line: 781-595-WFNX (9369)
(92.1 FM in NH & So. Maine)

Thanks again.

Smooches,

Jen

SUNDAYS!!!!!

What a glorious day for work. j/k. I don't like work on Sundays, but it does give you a lot of time to write about upcoming shows. Our next show is this Fri. Jan 13, at P4th in Troy, New York. It’s new but the people there are still awesome. Great beer, and a new location really tops it off. We'll be there with our occasional road guy Johnny Smokz. I'm positive that we won't be able to drive/load gear after Artie is done getting us too drunk, so John will take the wheel.

Then on Sat., Jan 14, we're playing the Continental in New York City, which is always a blast. That show will be good to come out to 'cause we always get fired up for NYC.

Then on Jan. 20 we will be appearing at Bill's Bar on Lansdowne St. in Boston. We are performing at 10:30pm so make sure you're drunk and willing to rock. If you need directions to any of these places then check out our site- www.allthingsaloud.com for all your rock needs and then some. For now that seems like enough golden information for all you Aloud fiends.

Here in the light

First off a very happy new year to all of you. I hope you spent all this time with good people and good drinks. We'll be resting up for the next few weeks till the first show of the year at Positively 4th St in Troy, NY followed the next day with a show in NYC at the Continental. Another very fun show is on January 20 at Bill's Bar. It'll be part of FNX's New England Product Spotlight.

We're hoping to release the album in April and are working on some new stuff as well to be ready for the 2nd album.

Take care of yourselves this new year and we'll hopefully see you all soon enough.
