We're on more stations, in the Phoenix (sorta), and CMJ news
ello hello, kiddies. Radioplay across the nation (always wanted to say that) is doing very well. We almost cracked the CMJ 200 last week I'm told something pretty rare on a self-released debut and it's all thanks to you guys! Keep it up! Check out the updated full list of stations here. I've also posted a selected list of stations below that have the album in heavy and medium rotation. Thank you, thank you, thank you everyone! As you may or may not know, the Phoenix has a thing called the Phoenix Band Guide. Said "band guide" has a thing called the "featured artist". What does this have to do with anything? Weeeeell, Aloud is said featured artist for the time being. YAY. ![]() Don't forget: 1) You can by our album (Leave Your Light On) at CD Baby. 2) Or you can buy it on iTunes. 3) We've got an acoustic show at the Burren tonight. Jen and I are going to be playing a ton of covers at we really like at 9pm (don't worry, Ross and Roy will be in on the fun for a few Aloud tunes). The Bleedin Bleedins are on after us (10pm), followed by Gitanes Pales (11pm). It'll be a gas. And I might wear my cowboy hat. You'll just have to wait and see. Cheers, Henry ![]() Beautiful Day, Pt. 1 By U2 Tuesday, June 20, 2006 I hate writing on laptops. I had this whole thing written out, quite possibly the awesomest blog in the existence of blogging, and boom. Stupid laptop mouse thing closes the page, and now it's gone. It's all gone and shattered like so much lamp on scalp (name me that reference, and I'll buy you a Coke). Anyhoo.. this past weekend, the folks at Apple snuck up on us when we weren't looking, and Leave Your Light On is now officially available on the iTunes Music Store. No longer will you kids with loose morals and no scruples about not owning a physical CD be held back any longer! That's right, I totally went there you jerks. Err... I mean... please buy our CD. ![]() I was also going to talk about how we had a new acoustic gig added on the 28th, but I see Jen's already mentioned that. In fact, she's already mentioned the iTunes thing too. This blog, however awesome it would've been, is a sham, and I have Jen to blame for it. A hex on your house, de la Osa!! Twice!!! ![]() (NERD!) A thanks to Sam and the fine folks at WEXP for a fun late afternoon interview. We'll be posting that on the site for everyone to hear later in the week. Hope everyone's having an awesome week. And you should all watch Nacho Libre. Es muy bueno. NaCHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, Henry ![]() Mario Kart 64 Monday, June 19, 2006 Those of you waiting to purchase Leave Your Light On at the iTunes music store do not have to wait much longer. Head down to iTunes right now and download the new album. In other news, we've added another date for June. It'll be a very fun, mellow show at the Burren in Somerville; MA (Davis Square). This'll be a rare acoustic performance for us. Henry and I are going to play a bunch of covers and then Ross and Roy will join us for some tunes off the album. Do come down and enjoy a pint of Guinness. This is sorta something me and Henry used to do in Miami way back when, so it'll be an interesting thing to witness us all not playing loud rocknroll. Just got back from South Carolina today. I went off to Myrtle Beach for the weekend and was able to sneak out to Charleston while I was there. Can't wait to come play for you folk. Fine town, fine times. Back in Raleigh right now. Don't worry Boston I'll be back home on Friday. Cheers, Jen Wednesday, June 14, 2006
Mucho thanks and the rest of June
Thanks to everyone who came out last night to the Abbey Lounge. We had a terrific time. Special thanks to the Silver Lining who were the best I've seen them. Absolutely on fire. Henry and I are going away for a week. I'm off to my folks and he's off to visit his. I'm sure there'll be a blog while we're out. To those of you we missed this month we'll be back to you by the end of the summer. We'll be back in NYC and Boston in July. Then Ross is off for three weeks in Africa (but that's a story for a later blog). August we're back with bells on. We'll be able to make up that cancelled Buffalo date and hopefully the cancelled Troy date as well. Until then you've got the album... Cheers, Jen ![]() Every Picture Tells a Story By Rod Stewart Sunday, June 11, 2006 I think I mentioned before we'd be rotating tracks from the album up on the player. Where's this new track you say? Well it's up! Would I lie to you? If you take a look you'll see Bleeding Heart on there. Take a listen, leave a comment you beautiful person you. A quick thank you to all the folks from La Cocina last nite and a big high-five to Violet Nine for having us. I fear I was a little too tipsy and after changing out of my Ben Sherman shirt at the rest stop I may have lost it. What a shame. It was my favorite shirt. It's that striped one I wear in the Beaches video. I've lost a dear friend. Here's the shirt in action... ![]() :( If you're bored and haven't voted for us on NME yet, all you have to do is register and vote. You can make up info when you register and don't worry you won't get any spam or the sort. Thanks everyone! Cheers, Jen R.I.P. striped Ben Sherman. ![]() Every Picture Tells a Story By Rod Stewart Friday, June 2, 2006
I've got canned heat in my feet tonite baby
And I suppose I do... We added some more shows for the summer. And are getting out to Pennsylvania in August. We're trying to cover Philly, NJ, and Baltimore if we get the chance as well. Perhaps some upstate NY gigs are in order too. Don't know if there's much else going on. We've been working hard on getting the album into all sorts of hands. There should be another video coming this summer. It's gonna be a doozy (how do you spell that?). If you haven't done so already, take the time to register and vote for us on NME.com. If we get enough votes we can go to England to play their 10 year anniversary concert. They won't send you spam or anything and if you feel uncomfortable about giving out your info to them you can always make it up. I'm registered with them actually. The cool thing is you have access to a ton of videos, news, and whole albums. It's pretty bitchin'. There's some more news and things to read on us at the website. Check it out, yo! Hope all is well with you and yours. Cheers, Jen ![]() Regretfully Yours By Superdrag BLOG ARCHIVE
