O for Out

Hope everyone is doing well today. I'm doing all right. Thought I'd check in to update you on what's going on in the world of Aloud...Oh but before I do, August has been a lovely month. Thanks to all who came out to Mohawk Place, P4, Death Disco, John and Peters, and T.T.'s. You've made this month a great one full of hotels, smiles, and cheap food.

In September we'll be playing some more shows. First at Dodge (Salem) on 9-14. The following night Crash Mansion (NYC) for our good friend Annie's annual birthday blowout. The next week come join us at Great Scott (Allston) for a show presented by Northeastern Performer. We'll cap things off with an appearance at MEANY Fest hosted at Fat Baby (NYC).

After Sept. we'll be taking some time away from the road to start working on new material, but not before giving you another music video for Can You Hear Me Now? as well as another Behind the Scene video on the album.

Now why don't you still have the album? If you buy it on CDBaby before the end of tomorrow your sales (in addition to the rest for the month) will get us on their compilation. Click that link and buy! Out in the modern world? Download only. Hit up iTunes for Leave Your Light On.

I'll be off to Miami tomorrow for a friend's wedding. Just missed Ernesto. Never fails. Always a storm down there. Be sure and keep bothering the NME to check us out while I'm gone. Stay cool duckies.

Cheers,

Jen

More on that NME magazine

So it seems the NME is wanting to write about new bands and asking you out right for suggestions. Check out their blog about it. Henry was good enough to photoshop us on the cover of the NME...

What do we need from you? We need you to message the NME and tell them about ALOUD! Tell them how you love us and how much they need to review our CD. Give them our myspace page: myspace.com/aloud.

Show them the love.

Cheers,

Jen

Photos from Death Disco last week

Our friend Nev Brown took a few photos from our show at the Annex last week.. As soon as I get a minute to breathe, I'll be putting together another little tour-diary type video..

That's all I've got. Enjoy!

Cheers,
Henry

Buffalo and Troy in pictures

As promised photos from the road...

First stop was some sightseeing at Niagara Falls

After being wowed by the falls we took off for our interview at WBNY.

Henry and DJ Bill @ WBNY

After the interview we drove to Colin's house. Colin plays in Shaking Hand who we were playing with that night at Mohawk Place. He's also is a band called Johnny Nobody. It was then that we got hungry.

We eat fresh, Subway style.

We arrive at Mohawk Place.

D.B. Blaze

Most of you don't know this, but Roy is rather good on a skateboard.

...so we had a fantastic time playing at Mohawk and decided to go out and celebrate with Colin and co. Warning: stupid, drunk faces abound.

What a long nite...

Then we all got really sleepy.

On the way to Troy for the next show.

Welcome to Positively 4th Street.

Johnny Mystery plays a set before we go on.

Ever wonder what the view is like from behind a drum kit? Wonder no further.

And there you have it.

Cheers,

Jen

What a ride!

Just got in from this week's round of shows. NYC and New Hope you were gracious and kind. Thanks :)

I'm tired. Glad to be in Beantown, but missing the late nites and friendly faces. Stay tuned for pictures galore. I know I promised you some from the Buffalo/Troy trip last week, but they're coming. Just waiting to get them from Ross. In the meantime here are a couple.

This is Ross and I at Niagara Falls just before hitting WBNY.

That's mighty close...

Our oh so delightful Chevy Venture...

We shot a lot of video as well, so Henry will be putting together his own video blog for you. Hopefully that'll go down in the next week or so. Also happening next week is our hometown show at T.T. the Bear's on August 26. It's sort of a themed night as all the bands playing having some members originally from Miami (Henry and myself if you didn't know).

Hope you're all having a great end of summer. August is almost over. Some of you will be heading back to school.. others.. well we'll all still be working, eh?

Take care. Hope to see as many of you as I can soon.

Cheers,

Jen

I got nothin'.

Hey kiddies... Much to write about, and not enough time to do it in. I'll be away for the next couple of days in NYC and Pennsylvania so I won't have time to go into detail, but I'll yap all about it soon enough, I'm sure. Still waiting for Ross to get me those damn pictures too. Took loads of video, so as soon as I can edit all that down (assuming there's any usable footage) I'll post that up too.

Morale's high, the air conditioner's fixed, and everyone's happy.

Playing at Death Disco tonight in NYC (it's at the Annex now), and John & Peter's in New Hope, PA. I'll see you there!

Cheers,
Henry

Rockin' in Buffalo

Hello friends, from the road!!

Sincerely,

Ross

Henry's big weepy thank you to everyone.

Hey everyone.. Just took a look at some radio charts and whatnot, and Leave Your Light On is still going strong (and if I'm not retarded about reading this thing, better than when it was released!)

So consider this a big THANK YOU to everyone that's supported us... everyone out there that's been requesting us, all the stations and DJs that have been playing us all over the country, everyone that's given us writeups.. Too many people to list, but you know who you are, and rest assured that we're very appreciative and grateful. Is that redundant? You bet.

I don't have to tell you that making an album and everything surrounding that process can be an uphill and often discouraging battle (if you're doing it right!), especially if the deck is stacked against you from the get-go and your resources are as limited as ours. So the overwhelming positive response to LYLO has knocked me on my ass some (in a good way, of course!). Big ups (big ups?? wtf?) go to Hugh, first and foremost, for being in the trenches with us- both before and after the producing the record, and Annie Burns for all her footwork and hard work on our behalf in New York. We haven't thanked Tom Polce enough either, who had the monumental task of mixing the whole thing down. And of course, our "inner circle" pushing us to make this record for years (y'all know who you are). I know I'm probably leaving someone out and I'll feel like a complete douchebag later. Oh right, and Eddie for taking all those photos, and Tom for all the work he did on the Beaches video, and Blair for those stills from the video we've gotten so much mileage out of, Liz and Jerry for being photographed for the artwork...... and of course, all of you for actually going out and buying the damn record..

I'll stop now before this turns into a big old Oscar acceptance speech (knock it off, Henry, we haven't even won a damn thing!)

Keep requesting LYLO!!
Here's a list of stations where you can request us.

Tell your friends to buy LYLO either at CD Baby or iTunes.

Keep this shit going!!

Check us out tomorrow afternoon (around 3pm) on WBNY 91.3 FM Buffalo, and then tomorrow night (9:30pm) at Mohawk Place with Shaking Hands. Saturday, we'll be in Troy, NY at Positively 4th Street (you should stop by Sunday too, as Artie is holding an anniversary show for Positively 4th Street).

You're all beautiful, man. Seriously.

We'll see ya tomorrow night.

Cheers,
Henry

Waiting on a friend

Hey folks. It's seemed like a very long three weeks that we've been away from you. I don't know how bands take a whole year out, but I suppose it's coz you have to at some point. We're all itching to get out there and play for you. The roar of the amp and the rush of the stage is something we miss dearly. Ross will be back tomorrow though.

We've got some great shows lined up this month. We'll be back to Troy and Buffalo on the 11/12 to make up for those cancelled dates back in May. The next week on the 16/17 we'll be in New York for Death Disco and our debut in PA at John and Peter's in New Hope. We'll cap it off with a hometown show at T.T.'s. It's a Miami-themed nite so it'll be a double hometown show for Henry and I. All the bands playing that nite have members that were originally from the beach. Things are interesting down there right now.

So how are all of you doing? Leave a comment. How are you dealing with the heat? It's 100 degrees outside today. No joke. What you been up to?

Cheers,

Jen
