Had a wonderful, busy weekend. Spent most of the day recording another new song with Dan on Friday. It's another tune that was floating around in some form since the writing session for Fan The Fury, but Jen and I never finished it for whatever reason. We gave it a new coat of paint and some new lyrics, and it's coming out very well. Hell, all the songs are coming out very well. We're even looking forward to whatever's going to come out after this. We've got one (two?) more songs to go on this, hoping to wrap that up before we leave for tour. Have to find some time to work on some string arrangements before then. That's probably not going to happen. Saturday, two really good friends of ours (finally!) tied the knot. I can be a heartless cynic when it comes to certain traditions, but the ceremony was very sweet and genuine (enough for me to keep inappropriate comments to a bare minimum). But yea, the whole thing was just fantastic. There was coffee, tea, and pastries. There were kilts. There was a Wall-E and Eva bride and groom on display. There were kilts. There were crying relatives. We were up partying at their place till five in the morning. Still gladly paying for it now, of course. Nothing but good wishes to Beca and Martin from Camp Aloud. Could use a few days to rest up, but with CMJ and then the tour around the corner it doesn't look like that's happening. My body hurts. Henry Monday, October 5, 2009

Can't wait to give their new album a listen. Played pool later with some dudes named James and Brendan along with Travis and... well Matt wasn't actually playing pool, but he was yelling when shots were made, so I'll allow it. (Travis won.) Had a great convo with Jim from Mercy James Gang as well about Beatles mono mixes (and other such awesomery). It was a good conversation I really enjoyed. Will leave you all now. Typing on not-a-smartphone does not get less annoying with time. In a bit.
