They say the devil's water it ain't so sweet.
(I really don't care, actually. I thought I could be amusing and topical by bringing that anecdote up. I was there that night and I still didn't notice anything so... what the hell do I know? However, Roy: I will challenge you to fisticuffs!). But ANYWAY (Chuck Klosterman much?), if I can see that I'm going to think Sam's Town is brilliant *eventually*, does that mean I *already* think it's brilliant? Is this some sort of time paradox? I actually bought it off of iTunes. Don't get me wrong, I love, love, love the fact that iTunes exist and people use it. I think digital downloading is the next big medium. But personally, I need to have a CD. I need physical artwork. I need to have the superior quality that uncompressed audio provides (never you mind 95% of what I listen to nowadays is off my iPod— I just need to know the option is there). But my folks inadvertently put a monkey wrench in the works by getting me an iTunes gift card. So you tell me.. do I get up off my ass, take the train down to Newbury St, pay $11.99-plus-tax, take the train all the way back to Allston, and then rip this onto iTunes? OR do I just give in to convenience (and Jen's calls to "just fucking do it, man")? That being said, buy my band's album and it will please me. for the iTunes camp: link for the OCD-like-Henry camp: http://www.cdbaby.com/aloud2 So ANYWAY (definitely Chuck Klosterman), based on my future appraisal of the Killers album, I would recommend you grab this up.After you buy my album. We're certainly better than the fucking Killers (he says with a smirk, certainly not taking a page from the book of Oasis). I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of crap for vast portions of this blog.
