It's not whether you win or lose...
First, foremost, of the highest import: thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you everyone that came out to support us, friends old and new, people we've never met before.... Speaking for myself (I'm sure my bandmates would agree as well), you gave us so much last night. You clapped along, you sang back to us... You met us halfway. It got us absolutely manic onstage (I'm hurting for it today all over), and it was worth every second. We love all of you. Also important: congratulations to Baker. They're a great bunch of people and they're a really good band to boot. Kudos, kids, and give 'em hell! I believe they're playing the semi-finals on the 13th. The boys in Ark Royal rocked and as far as the Cassavettes go, you haven't heard the last of them. Our manager Annie was able to make it into town for the Rumble too. We love her to pieces. The whole night was insanely fun, and we were all really glad to have been invited. I got to talk to Shred for a bit, and for a guy nicknamed after a jagged-sounding transitive verb he's super cool and incredibly not jaded. I was reminiscing with him about the first time we had contact with him, I think it was either late 2002 or very early 2003. We had emailed him about playing a show at the Middle East (where he was booking at the time), and after scolding us for littering Allston with Aloud stickers he gave us the choice of playing the Upstairs (capacity: less than 200) or the Downstairs (capacity: 575... used to be a bowling alley back in the 70s). We all know what happens when you give a band of 19 and 20 year olds a choice like that. "Life lessons!" he said. Well, that's all. I think there was video taken as well as a lot of photos. I'm sure they'll be posted soon. But not now. I'm taking a nap before heading out to night #3 as a spectator. Be well, Henry (Hoping no one starts schooling me on the difference between transitive vs. intransitive verbs.)
